Back to the Beach

Tomorrow we're headed back to the sand and surf of Southern California for another summer of photographing our clients on the beaches.
I know, I know . . . it's a rough job but someone has to do it :) It's just a two week trip this year so we'll be back to enjoy the monsoons!
I'm hoping the house we rent will have internet this time so I can keep blogging, twittering and staying in touch. I'll also try to send along some images so you can see what we're doing.
Ciao!

June Portrait of the Month

I know June is not over and there are still amazing images to be taken but I just couldn't resist sharing this newborn portrait with you.
Meet baby Mya Rose Koehler and proud parents, Julie and Scott.
Some day in the future, when she's asking to borrow the car keys, they'll be able to look back at this precious image and remember how her life began . . . with them holding her in the palm of their hands.
Do you know anyone expecting their own little miracle? Please share this blog and our website with them. http://www.imagesbykay.com/ We appreciate your referrals!

Time to say 'thanks'

How many of us are guilty for not taking time to 'thank' the people in our lives that have made an impact on who we are or what we've become? Our family, our friends, our colleagues . . . they all have something to do with who we are right now. And, as we face an uncertain future, I think it's time to let the people in your life know just how important they are to you. That you appreciate their love and support.
So, Mom and Dad, during your special 50th Wedding Anniversary year . . . it is my time to publically tell you 'thank you' for providing me with the freedom to become who I am, the support of picking me up when I've stumbled, the patience to guide me down the right paths even though I sometimes didn't want to go and for having the best senses of humor in the world! I appreciate all that you do for me and love you both very much.

The Tate Grandchildren & Letting Kids be Kids

Every now and again you have a session that is just 'way too much fun'! One that makes you glad you're a professional photographer. Well, photographing the Tate Grandchildren was exactly that. It was a pleasure to capture their personalities, senses of humor and amazing little spirits.
And it's especially rewarding when their parents are happy too . . .

"Kay, the pictures you took of the grandkids blew my Mom away!! You did more in 30 minutes with 6 kids than anyone I've ever seen. You are truly an olympic athelete in the world of photography!" Faye Tait
